The Science and Exploration Program (SEP) believes that setting aside inviolate wilderness areas, and managing the human-influenced landscapes that surround them, are the most important components of long term conservation. The earth’s last wild places are the most important refuges for large populations of many endangered species yet the threats to them continue to increase every year.
Our mission is to explore, survey, and protect the Earth’s last wild places, and promote science-based approaches to the study, conservation, and management of threatened wildlife species across their entire range. |
